We are THRILLED to announce the 2nd annual Emerging Artists Program at Barnhouse Sound.
Last year, more than 20 artists came through our doors as part of our inaugural program, gaining access to a destination studio experience that is too often out of reach for driven, talented musicians.
Due to the phenomenal success of last year’s EA program, we are bringing it back — this time with additional overnight accommodation discounts to allow more artists across Canada to participate.
We are giving away 200 hours of free studio time to talented, emerging artists who qualify and otherwise wouldn’t be able to benefit from the services of a professional recording studio.
But that’s not all!
We want you to record your next project with ease and inspiration by taking advantage of our on-site luxury accommodations.
So, we’re offering 50% off accommodations* for those with multi-day sessions.
*$150 cleaning fee still applies. Accommodations offer only available to those who use our engineer.
Maximum 4 people, but let us know if you have a larger group, and we’ll see what we can do!

Fawkes & Hownd
This band from Saltspring Island, BC, shot a series of live music videos at The Barnhouse as a part of the emerging artist program. Check out their latest release “Backroads” that they recorded at The Barnhouse with Justin LaPointe.
Tyler Johnson Band
Tyler and his band of killer Vancouver Island session musicians recorded live off the floor at The Barnhouse as a part of the Emerging Artists program. Produced, mixed and mastered at The Barnhouse with Justin in the spring of 2023.
Blush
This alternative rock band from Victoria, BC, recorded an EP produced by Justin LaPointe. Blush spent a long weekend in the spring of 2023 with Justin, and are currently planning on coming back in 2024 for a full length!
Katya Coulton
Katya came all the way from Toronto to produce her first two recordings ever with Justin LaPointe and The Barnhouse crew. She is looking forward to coming back and creating a full length!
Mister Bird
From Canmore, BC, Mister Bird recorded an album over one week at The Barnhouse as part of the emerging artist program. “ Moving Mountains” is out now on all streaming platforms. Justin added drums, bass and some guitar to a few of the tracks and had an absolute blast collaborating with Mister Bird. “Moving Mountains” is also available on Vinyl.
Glisha
From Vancouver, BC, Glisha used her emerging artist program time to finish her EP, which she self-produced with some help from Justin LaPointe at The Barnhouse. The album is coming out in August 2024.
Mivule
This reggae band from Vancouver, BC, recorded bed tracks for their album at The Barnhouse as a part of the EAP.
